Leslie Munger

Leslie Munger is a seasoned executive with 30+ years of government, private sector business, and non-profit organization leadership. Munger is the former Illinois Comptroller and Deputy Governor. As State Comptroller, she led a a staff of over 300 people responsible for $32B in state payments & maintaining Illinois’ financial accounts. As Deputy Governor, she served as a senior advisor to the Governor and led efforts to support Illinois businesses and drive economic development throughout the state. Prior to government, Leslie spent her career in consumer products brand management, building teams and market-leading brands at Procter & Gamble and Helene Curtis/Unilever where she led the $800M US Hair Care business.

Munger’s unique experience of being appointed a C-level government officer with little advance notice, along with her decades of building brand teams, led her to become a coach and mentor. Leslie believes “Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t – you’re right.”(Henry Ford) Leslie helps leaders in volatile, high- stakes leadership positions and/or those going through rapid change in their organization to quickly develop their personal ”brand” and build the leadership skills, confidence, and team necessary to be successful.

Leslie’s Board service includes the Illinois Chamber of Commerce, The Riverside Foundation & Gamma Phi Beta at the University of Illinois. She served as trustee for the Illinois State Board of Investments (ISBI), and as the Chairman of the Illinois State Employee Retirement System (SERS).

Leslie and her husband, John, live in the suburban Chicago area and have two adult sons. She enjoys many outdoor sports, Pilates, cooking and entertaining.
